GENERAL SUMMARY

Reporting to the Business Leader Quality, the Quality Engineer is responsible for monitoring all the operational aspects of the quality system for the department.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1) Implementing preventive actions. Communicate with and co-ordinate the activities of the relevant departments to ensure compliance with documented specifications and procedures within the quality system.
2) Use of continuous improvement techniques.
3) Able to work closely with both Operations and Engineering departments in cross-functional teams.
4) Initiate and develop process improvements.
5) Develop and issue control plans and visual instructions.
6) Provide training and development for SPC on production processes.
7) Design experiments.
8) Assist in validation activities.
9) Assist in regulatory audits.
10) Assist in customer visits.
11) Provide statistical advice for process investigation.

CAPABILITY

Good knowledge of manufacturing processes, Quality Assurance and experience of auditing would be ideal.

Knowledge of statistical and validation techniques.

Can demonstrate excellent people skills and motivation to achieve challenging targets.

Excellent communicator with all levels of associates both internally and external to the organisation.

Demonstrates 'core values' and upholds company's standards and ethics in a visible manner to other associates.

EXPERIENCE

- Position requires a minimum of five years experience in a quality role within a high volume medical device-manufacturing environment. Position requires knowledge of high volume manufacturing within controlled environments. Experience within pharmaceutical and/or aviation industries.
- A good team player working effectively with the Business Team and all other departmental teams. Fit with business culture.
- Able to work with a minimum supervision and on own initiative. Proactive and dedicated to business objectives.
- Excellent, verbal, written and analytical skills.
- Highly developed presentation skills. Confidence in presenting to all levels.
- Knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing principles.

QUALIFICATIONS

Educated to Degree level or HND level. Evidence of continued professional development.

Advanced knowledge of MS Office, Project, email and internet.
